Copper foil is copper prepared in thin metal leaves, with a thickness less than 0.2 millimetres (200 micron), although much thinner gauges down to 0.007 mm (7 micron) are commonly used. The Copper foil is extremely pliable, and can be bent or wrapped around objects with ease. Copper foil is known as bare copper foil, and sometimes alternatively as cu-foil.

Copper foil is the most commonly used Conductor and Cable foils. Recommend use of two copper foil, one kind is electrolytic copper foil deposition (ED), one is rolling (RA) copper foil. Rolled copper foil is more flexible than electrolytic copper foil, and has stable mechanical properties under high temperature conditions.

Copper foil has a shiny side and a matte side. The most widely used copper alloys (purity: 99.8 – 99.9%) are C11000, C10100, C10200, C12200 and C14500. Copper has installed a numbering convention H01(soft) to H04(hard).
