Aluminium Foil
Aluminium foil is aluminium prepared in thin metal leaves, with a thickness less than 0.2 millimetres (200 micron), although much thinner gauges down to 0.005 mm (5 micron) are commonly used. The foil is extremely pliable, and can be bent or wrapped around objects with ease. Aluminium foil is known as aluminum foil, and sometimes alternatively as al-foil or alu-foil.
Aluminium foil has some amazing properties. It is light weight, attractive, resistant to odor, water, air, light, gas, oil and grease and possesses high thermal and electrical conductivity features. Aluminium foil is widely used for Packaging, Insulation, Household, Cable, Air-Condition, Auto Radiator, etc.
Aluminium foil has a shiny side and a matte side. The reflectivity of bright aluminium foil is 88% while dull embossed foil is about 80%. There is four aluminium alloy foil series: 1xxx, 3xxx, 5xxx and 8xxx. The most widely used aluminium alloys are 1045, 1050, 1100, 1200, 1235, 3003, 3102, 8006, 8011 and 8079.
